Dear All, I have located a Thomas Bartholomew, age 60, in the 1920 Census for Robertson County, TX, Franklin Township, Page 1B. His wife was Lore[??]a, aged 38. I am trying to ascertain whether this individual is my g-g-grandfather Thomas Bartholomew. Thanks, Patrick Martin _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail

This is really all I kow about where they lived in Wayne County.

I didn't copy down anything else. Adam lived in Civil District 7 when he was married to his first wife on the 1850 census. I found a J.L. Woodward on the 1860 in Civil District 12 on the 1860 census. Adam's brother, Alexander LUTTS, lived in Civil District 12 in the 1850 census, then on the 1860 census it was still listed as District 12, but it also listed Factors Fork. Does any of this make sense to you as I haven't actually tried to find exactly where they lived?

One other one that I know of: In 1883 Abel Woodward, Solomon's son, moved from Hardin County, TN to Robertson Co, TX. Abel's oldest son, Bill Woodward, married a Sarah Troutt there in 1883. One other idea: Solomon left Wayne Co for Tishomingo, MS in 1842. He died there in 1844 and several of his family went back to Wayne County. There were no other Woodwards in Wayne County until 1860 when Jason Woodward shows up in the census. He also must be related to Solomon because he lived in the same neighborhood, but I haven't figured out how yet. Do you know where Lutts lived in Wayne County? bill

Amanda married Adam LUTTS/LOOTS somewhere between 1852 and 1856. Adam's first wife died on 30 Jun 1852 and Amanda and Adam's child was born 11 Nov 1856/57. Adam married Rachel Elizabeth MOSS of Robertson County on 10 Oct 1878 and Amanda died on 12 Dec 1892 and is bured at Beeville, Bee, TX Evergreen cemetery. I have been attempting to find out if there was a newspaper in Beeville in 1892 or maybe even in Robertson County. There was in 1950 when Rachell MOSS LUTTS obituary from the Beeville Bee Picayune newspaper is listed under the Robertson County Board by a Connie MOSS who is a MOSS researcher. So good to hear from you . . . any suggestions?

I don't see how there cannot be a connection give the places and dates. Some of my information may be wrong but here's what I know for sure: Amanda Woodward b. abt 1822 was the daughter of Solomon Woodward. Solomon lived in Wayne County, TN during the 1830's and early 1840's. There is a marriage record of an Amanda Woodards marrying a William Wallace in Lauderdale Co, AL in 1846. I found an Amanda Wallace, widowed with a 3 yr.old son, living in Ouachita Co, AK in 1850, near a Caroline Woodward, who was another daughter of Solomon. I assumed she was the same Amanda. Do you have a dates for marriage for your Amanda? Bill

Amanda "Manda" WOODWARD married Adam LUTTS in Wayne County, TN. He died and is buried in Harden County, TN, after which she came to Texas and has connections with the MOSS/LUTTS family of Robertson County. In fact her descendents believe they were told at one time there is a connection. Amanda was born 28 Jun 1820 in TN according to what we have. I have been attempting to find an obituary for her without any luck. She died on 12 Dec 1892 and is buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Beeville, Bee, TX. Any suggestions and/or help that you might have would be very much appreciated.
Howdy All, I have finally found my 2nd great grandfather to be Hiram W. Cooke. After arriving from Weakley County, TN, he spent several years in Coryell County, but he also had land in Limestone and later resided in Robertson County (about 1870-1880) with his second wife, Mary Ann Kiebling and her son George H. Cooke. Hiram W. Cooke's only child from his first marriage to Jane Jenkins (Weakley Co., TN) was Jane/Jemima Wilds Cooke, wife of Thomas Garrard. Hiram W. Cooke is buried in the Texas State Cemetery. J. Wilds Cooke is buried in Mount Vernon Cemetery Calvert/Owensville. Would like to hear from anyone who might have further information on Hiram W. Cooke and, also, would love to have a picture of J. Wilds Cooke Garrard's tombstone. I'm living in France and don't know when I'll get a chance to visit... Would anyone know of any connection between Hiram W. Cooke and Wilds K. Cooke of the Limestone/Robertson area? Regards, Karen Trouvat
