She's going to write to another cousin somewhere who told her one of the Moores married a Love and I told her to try and find out where "they" are buried. I also just found out that the Sandifers are part of the family too. I do actually know a Love who still lives in the Wheelock area and I wrote her, she's in her 70's to see if she can confirm the Love/Moore Connection. Will keep you informed. Monica

    3. Dana, a five year variance in age on the census doesn't, by itself, rule out the probability that this is the same woman. The census taker may have only talked to a neighbor--we all know people who look five years older (or younger) than their real age. What if he talked to a daughter-in-law who thought to herself, "For once that old biddy's REAL age is going to be recorded." If Susan were born in 1805, she would have been only thirty-eight when Newton was born. We usually consider "too old to give birth" fifty and up. I do note that her birthplace in the 1860 Census (checking HeritageQuestOnline's image) is Ala. and in 1870 it was Ga. Have you found any of these people in the 1880 Census or at Robertson County's usgenweb site? MS This could be an entirely different Susan Smith or possibly a daughter-in-law, wife of a nephew? or she could have shaved her age.
