Is there anyone who is researching Walter W. Williams of this area of Texas. Walter was married to Florience Humphries and second to Ella Mae Holiday, with whom he had 12 children after the age of 46. Walter died December 17, 1959 at the age of 117. Franklin gave him a military funeral, that certainly benefited the last surviving soldier of the Civil War. He was a member of Company C, 5th Regiment, General Hood's Texas Brigade. No,Joan Elwell Is not my sister,she is g.grandaughter J.W.Gray,& Minnie Lee(Whitley) Gray.You& I are cousins,Joan is also cousin to us.Joan is about 40 I guess . Her moms name was Emery Fae Byrd(maiden name) .Emery Faes mom(Bleulah)was a daughter of J.W. & Minnie Gray.
