    2. Thought some of ya'll might remember this local legion from South east Red River. Tycob lived a really wonderful life. We will miss his stories about the about his life along the Sulphur River, he caught the biggest catfish, alligator, cat, coon, deer or what ever there was to hunt or catch. TYCOBB PYNESDeKALB, Texas-Byron E. "Tycobb" Pynes, 87, of Lydia, Texas, died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at a local nursing home.Mr. Pynes was born April 7, 1916, in Red River County, Texas. He was a retired millwright from Day & Zimmerman, a Methodist and a member of the National Rifle Association and The American Quarter Horse Association. He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Elvin Pynes, in 1954.Survivors include his wife, Amy Pynes of Lydia; four daughters and sons-in-law, Velda and Bobby Thomas of Simms, Texas, Peggy and Jack Lee of Oak Grove, Texas, Elsa and James Roberts of New Boston, Texas, and Barbara and Doden King of DeKalb; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bates-Rolf Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rufus Castro officiating. Burial will be in Lydia Cemetery.Visitation will be 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the Lydia Cemetery Association, in care of Peggy Lee, Route 1, Box 47C, Avery, TX 75554.
