I met a stranger at Kwik Kar today in Paris. I introduced myself to him and he replied he was Roger Allen. I asked if he was related to the Allen family of Allen Lumber of Clarksville. He said no, he was from Cunningham (far southeast Lamar Co). I talked with him about 10 minutes more before it struck me. I asked, are you related to Duane Allen. He said they were cousins. Duane Allen is the lead singer of The Oak Ridge Boys. I told Roger that our grouped had discussed the old "band stand" in the cross roads of Cunningham.
