Oran Ford (husband of Betty Ford) has been missing in Red River County since Saturday. Yesterday (Monday's) www.theparisnews.com has a story on it "Bogata Man Missing" I first heard of it Sunday afternoon on the police scanner at my wife's parent's home in Clarksville. He has had touches of dementia (memory problems). He was last seen driving around in north Red River County in his pickup, stopping and visiting a few friends. Oran and Betty lived across the street from parents home in Clarksville (College Ave) around the period of 1959. As of last night they still had not found him. I hope they find him just lost on a back road, but I fear worse than that. Oran is 74 years old. They have had police, VFD, and helicopters searching for his him in his 1995 red Ford truck. Betty said he had just filled up both tanks of gas and he could drive as far as 600 miles on those gallons. He is diabetic and does not have his medicine with him. Sunday they were searching the Hopewell, Negley & Bagwell area. He had told one of these people he was going to visit a man in Okla. Jim Giddens Paris, Tx p.s. Some people may remember Ford more easily if they are told he was always known as "O. L." The Paris paper got the name wrong. I only knew him as Oren (or Oran). I did not know he was O.L., but I did not know him that well. I think they may have moved in across the street from us after I graduated from CHS and was going to PJC. Probably lived there about 2 or 3 years. I do see his listing at Bogata as O.L.
