Hi Jim, Yes, Ephriam and Elizabeth "Bettie" Ann Sheppard Jordan were my grandmother, Bessie Ann Jordan Wicks, parents on my mother's side. I was not sure where Ephriam was from, all his kids were born in Tennessee, according to my records, my grandmother was born in Juno, Henderson County, Tennessee that is the only one I am sure of. My grandmother was born in 1892 and I think she said she was about 5 or 6 when they came to Texas in a covered wagon, she remembered it. I have more information on the Jordans than the Sheppards, I did find a 1860 census with Bettie and her brother John with the parent also in Henderson. Her dad was already 54 and her mom was 44 at that time so I don't think they came to Texas with them. There were some more Sheppard's in Lamar County and even another John Sheppard so I am having trouble separating them. I have that Ephriam had two brothers a John and a Jack but that is the only thing I have, maybe this John is the John Carroll you mentioned. I don't know what their parents names were. I have run across more than one Ephriam in Tennessee. I wish they had named them I II III in each family so they would have been easier to research. I have one picture of Ephriam and Bettie and none with or of the children. If you think about it sometime would you ask if he has any old picture that he could scan?
