    3. Diane, I am not sure of the exact name of the Church at Madras. I will check it out. It may be Cumberland Presbyterian Church. I feel Shiloh is reserved to the area of the Old Cemetery about 2 miles west of Madras, but I could be wrong. I just tried to call Gillie Quick that lives across the road from the Madras Cemetery/Church but no answer. I will try later. I am sure she can clear it up for us. It does seem clear the church you went to was at Madras. The one at Shiloh moved to Clarksville in the mid 1850s. According to Bessie W Strickland in the RR Recollections book, the Madras Cemetery land was purchased in 1892 from the P.H. & S.C. Igo.. In 1924 ladies formed the Madras Cemetery Society. Cemetery was enclosed with a cyclone fence in 1959. In 1970, a perpetual care fund was set up my members for the care of the cemetery in the future. A large arch was installed over the cemetery gate fwhich reads "Madras Cemetery". This was made possible by a donation from a member. A plaque donated anonymously was installed on the arch post. The dedication was held in 1982. (I do not know if the arch gate was build in 1970 or 1982). Jim Giddens Paris,Tx p.s. I original was replying only to Diane, but due to the length of information I decided to send it to the group as a point of interest.
