Marlene What part of Missouri are you from? I am planning a trip to visit Franklin. I understand there is a large statue of my GGGgrandfather, William Becknell, there to honor him as The Father of the Santa Fe Trail. He left there in 1833 and settled in Red River County, just west of Clarksville. I was born and have lived in Lebanon, Laclede County for all but about 3 of my 63 years. It is a wonderful place to live! I just looked up a page about William Bicknell and the Santa Fe Trail.
