    3. I feel sure that many of you know already, but in case you don't, pull up the Paris News on your computer, and you will find it full of Clarksville happenings. Also, for a change, most of it seems good, and GOD knows it is time some of the bad stuff is not the main issues. Who knows, the old girl might be on it's way back, at least we can hope so. 3. Yes, It is good to see the Paris News reporting positive events/news in Clarksville. Go to www.theparisnews.com As I drove through Clarksville yesterday about 7:30 a.m. on my way to Texarkana, the only access to drive on the square was only Main Street. Road blocks prevented any turning up Locust or Walnut onto the square. As I was driving back through Clarksville about 7 p.m. (dark) I had to stop for the red light at the southeast corner of the square. I had forgotten at that point that Mrs Perry had been there that day, but I was thinking about the Clarksville square having such a great early Texas history. However I was a little set back (stressed) that the thing that was most "attention grabbing" in my vision was the Golden Arches of the new MacDonalds about 3 or 4 block up Main Street from me. The huge, bright yellow golden arches seem to be dominating my vision and seemed to appear as tall as a water tower. Maybe this is why the events of the day on the square did not enter into my mind. Yes, I was wondering if that was all some people may see is McDonalds and not the history of Red River County. I think and hope this new Main Street Project will do a great part in reviving the city and the county. I could go on and on about the economics of past and present and future of Red River County but I will rest for now. I will say that RR Co must have a better tax base, jobs, investments and people spending money in RR Co. This will not be a easy task to achieve. Recently I asked the Highway Dept in Clarksville about putting up signs naming the creeks, but he told me the county was too poor to spend money on such non essentials projects.
