Sharon, It would be interesting to see if it was the church in Clarksville or the one in Madras. Maple Springs was the name of the original settlement in the Bogata area. According to RRR, the Cumberland Presbyterian Church was organized in Bogata in Sept , 1877 my Rev. Charles Manton. They first worshipped in the little building which Mr Wm. Humphrey built in the park area. Now I look across to page 25 and it say the Bogata Cemetery was first known as Maple Springs Cemetery. In 1880a Bogata post office was established at the Maple Springs community, and the name of the town and cemetery were changed. William Humphrey came in 1826 as a 14 year old boy, returned to Tn & Al but in 1836 he came back to settle permanently, bringing his family. etc etc. Jim Giddens Paris, Tx ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sharon Black" <black@1starnet.com> To: <TXREDRIV-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 15, 2003 2:51 PM Subject: [TXREDRIV] Shiloh Church > Hi Jim, > Thought this might interest you.
