    3. The problem I find researching Phillips is that the name has origins in many different countries. Most of my other surnames I can trace to a specific country of origin. Besides the Poolville connection the only other Phillips connection without a blood relation is my wife. When I first met her I knew she was divorced, but didn't know she was using her maiden name. I was surprised to find out that her grandfather was a Jewish Phillips from Latvia. Her brother has documents that show the original name is similar to Phillips, but it is written in Cyrillic characters. He was the first to come to the US in the late 1800s. When his siblings came over they used the same translation. Gene At 07:37 PM 3/25/03, you wrote: >No Gene, I don't know of any books on Poolville. I will check around >though. 2. Hey Gene, I walked the Poolville cemetery yesterday with my dad and aunt. I took about 70 pictures, 60 or so of tombstones. I found a ton of Phillips there. Once I index them I will send you a list. I also walked the Springtown cemetery, which is quite large, and took about 150 pictures there. There were quite a few Phillips there also. Thanks, Drew ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gene Phillips" <gnphllps@comcast.net> To: <TXREDRIV-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, March 26, 2003 5:48 AM Subject: Re: [TXREDRIV] Phillips family > The problem I find researching Phillips is that the name has origins in many different countries.
