Drew, In addition to to my aunt mentioned earlier who married the Holloway, her father, Benjamin C Phillips and his sister Mary "Tine" Phillips who was married to James VanBusKirk, Calip Leonard Presley and James Harrington at various times. Also lived in Clarksville. Jack Edward Phillips married to Joan Skaggs and his brother Henry were born in RR county Jack died about a year ago. He lived in Lone Star He still has children that lives around the area. Eddie lives in Lone Star, Baxter lives in Palestine, Benjamin lives in Detroit. Beverly Sustaire lives in Paris and Marsha lives in Mount Pleasant. Jack was a 2nd cousin to my mother. All may Phillips came to RR county from Oregon Co MO. My gg-gf came to Oregon County from Henderson Co TN. He had 14 children and their descendants spread out through OK, AR and TX. As to Parker county, my cousin that lives there is Oscar Holloway. He lives on a farm west of town. I do have a connection to Phillips in Parker County. They are on my late wife's side of the family. Miles Milon Pool b IL 1876 married Nipsie Delania Pool in Poolville, (north of Weatherford). Their daughter Juanita Inez Phillips married my wife's great uncle Clifton Richard Cast in Rush Springs OK. I believe that Miles came to Rush Springs to work in the Gypsum mile at Acme outside Rush Springs. I knew for years that he was buried in the Rush Springs Cemetery and wondered if he was related to me. When I found his obituary, I was surprised to find that he was related to my wife. She didn't even though that. Clifton and Juanita lived most of their adult life in Midland TX and she didn't know Juanita's maiden name. Gene, I am not aware of any of my Phillips coming from TN, but it could be a possibilty since they were in GA. I am sure they would have been from Eastern TN though if that was the case. I can't think of any of them in MO either. Honestly, I don't know alot about this family since it is my step-ggrandfather's. I will look into some more now though and see what I can find. As far as Parker County goes, my mother's whole side of the family is from there. The two main families for me are Burns and Aslinger. I don't have any Pool families in my records though. I do know where Poolville is though and actually was there just a few weeks ago looking for a burial of a Martin family member. I have family there and in Peaster, which is just south of Poolville. Most of my family is either in Zion Hill or Annetta. How far back can you go on the Phillips? Right now, I only have back to 1844. The oldest known now is George Washington Phillips. No Gene, I don't know of any books on Poolville. I will check around though. I am sure there are some in the Weatherford library. I will keep my eyes open. I need to look a little further into the Phillips though. I will let you know if I find a connection or anything of interest. I went to high school with Donna Skaggs and her brother Gene Paul Skaggs from the Lone Star / Fulbright area. The both still live in the Clarksville area. You can find Gene Paul at Tracy's Cafe in Clarksville almost day at lunch time. He use to eat at the Dairy Queen but changed. (just a tidbit input). Jim Giddens Paris, Tx. p.s. I got a call today to work in Texarkana tomorrow. I will give the board a rest. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gene Phillips" <gnphllps@comcast.net> To: <TXREDRIV-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 23, 2003 12:18 AM Subject: Re: [TXREDRIV] New to list > Drew, > > In addition to to my aunt mentioned earlier who married the Holloway, her father, Benjamin C Phillips and his sister Mary "Tine" Phillips who was married to James VanBusKirk, Calip Leonard Presley and James Harrington at various times.
