The Paris News has on today's front page a picture of a house burning Saturday with only the chimney still standing. It is a 98 year old house belong to Ted Grant in the Cherry Community (Stones Chapel Cemetery area). The house was built by the grandfather of Te, Walter Grant on a $400 loan. Ted was out of town at the time of the fire. Great grand daughter Debbie Grant found Walter Grant's double-barrel shot gun in the smoldering ash later Saturday. I guess the gun was all that was recovered. It is intact, but the wood stock is burned away. I only about 2 weeks ago bought a fire proof box to put my most historical genealogy pictures and papers in. It is sad how much history may have burned in the fire. Ted is owner of Ted & Beth's restaurant in Clarksville. I checked the Paris News web-site, but it is not there at this time at least. He house is on FM 2283. Jim Giddens
