    1. [TXREDRIV] Everybody OK???
    2. Hadn't heard from anyone in the last few days...Hope everyone is staying warm and safe. Fort Worth was somewhat bad today, at least enough to shut down the schools and some businesses. They didn't come pick up the trash today either, the nerve of some people...hehe... I saw Paris JC closed today must be bad up there also. I figure probably a little worse since there isn't as much concrete and heat from everything.... Take care, Drew Slate Fort Worth, Tx

    3. Yes we got about 4 inches of sleet Monday night. I did not drive into Paris (I am in Reno on the east edge of Paris) but I did leave about 8 a.m. and drove to Pittsburg. There were very few drivers on US 82 in Reno. It was solid packed sleet on the roads. I decided to drive my son's van because it is "All-Wheel" drive. I had no real trouble but I drove about 20 to 40 mph until I got past Bogata and almost to Talco. At that point the road began to be clear. By the time I got to Mt Pleasant, all was well. There was in that area ice on the trees etc, but the roads must have been warm enough to melt the lesser amount to ice. They did have a little snow and rain mixed. +++ I just got up to look outside, I saw yesterdays Paris News in the yard, I went out to get it and thought I was going to break my neck (actually my back was my main concern). The sleet is not extremely frozen hard and slick as ICE. My yard and sidewalk slopes to the front. I was sliding as I approached my paper. I could not get back up the side walk for my feet almost sliding out from under me. I bent over and took off my rubber sole house shoes and in my sock feet was able to walk back up the walk to my front porch. I hope now one had a video camera on me.+++ I am glad I don't need to get out his morning. Maybe it will melt down my tomorrow. Jim Giddens Paris/Reno, Tx p.s. I have had my son's fan for 2 years because he was not allowed to take it to Okinawa. It came in handy yesterday, ----- Original Message ----- From: <drew-slate@charter.net> To: <TXREDRIV-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 25, 2003 10:44 PM Subject: [TXREDRIV] Everybody OK??? > Hadn't heard from anyone in the last few days...Hope everyone is staying warm and safe.
