    1. [TXREDRIV] Red River County in Louisiana Purchase

    3. I guess this was always in the back of my mind somewhere, or maybe not. But the area of what is Red River county today was inside the Louisiana purchase 1803. I see why the U.S. called it Miller County, Ark. Also the U.S. bought it of course from France and maybe Mexico did not agree and continued to claim to the Red River. The line cuts off the northeast corner of Texas. I just went to Yahoo and typed in Louisiana Purchase Map, and the first selection has a map that is very clear on the area. I noticed this first when I was watching the Louisiana Purchase on the History Channel a few night ago. Ok, I will give it a rest, I will be working a little extra this week. Jim Giddens Paris,Tx
