    3. Good Morning to any of you that cares to read my babbling, It has been about a year and a half since I have been able to sit down, and run my unasked for mouth on this site because of a Kidney condition. I have read about everything all of you have had to say, and it really helped pass some lonely time, so thank you, but now while things are quite, perhaps you will permit me a little time? I promise you that you will not read anything worth knowing, so you won't have to remember. I used to tell about sitting on my back deck in the Morning, looking at the many things God had provided for me to see. I still have many birds and my wife's flowers to sit and look at and listen to, but I didn't have my tomatoes to talk about. Then something happened, someone told me about a tiller on the market that was light enough for me to handle, called a " Mantis ", and boy, what a wonderful little piece of equipment it is, so now I am looking at those beautiful tomatoes that I love so much again. They are full of blooms, and about ready for the fruit to start, so I am enjoying that again. I have read several things lately about the " Alamo ". In 1952 I was sent to Lackland Air Force Base for my basic training. Of course, the First chance at town, that was the First place I visited. I remember the different rooms that you could visit there, and the things that took place there, but I also remember going out on the lawn behind the Alamo, and there were many different spots out there that different things took place. Mind boggling to this RedRiver County poor boy. Another thing I remember was that if you sat around the front of the Alamo, many times you would see someone from back home, and this was a treat too. I will skip over a lot and say that the last time I was there was in the 1980's, and I was very disappointed at the changes they had made. Too many to talk about, but plenty to notice. Also, I think San Antonio is one of the best places in the U .S. to spend a week or more. So much to see, and the Casa Rio Cafe too. Wonderful to me. One more little bit of trivia, then I will hush. I always am glad to see a World Champion, no matter what it's in, and I would like to point out something close to here in Red River and Lamar County, that some of you might like to see sometime, that I think is a little extra, and would like to hear of your places I should see. I am talking about the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Hugo, Okla. that you can stand in one place and see the markers of five different World Champion's from the World of Rodeo at the same time. I think this Cemetery with this, plus all the Circus graves is well worth your time if you are in the area. I promise you will remember. Thank you so much for putting up with me again for just a little while. You have made an old man feel better. Sam >From West of Home Depot, Paris, Texas.

    3. Good to hear from you, Sam. Something has been wrong out there in computer land and this is the first message I've gotten from the list in a couple of weeks. Didn't even get back the one I sent the other day but my spies tell me everybody else got it. I agree about the Mantis tiller. I've had mine for about 3 years and it is easy and handy. It will till little spots in a flower bed where a big tiller wouldn't have room to move. It will also dig nice deep & wide holes for planting shrubs in this hard old black land. Maybe I'm going to start getting some mail from the list again. :-) Sharon ----- Original Message ----- From: "sam embrey" <sembrey@cox-internet.com> To: <TXREDRIV-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, May 10, 2003 4:38 AM Subject: [TXREDRIV] Babbling and not Genealogy Good Morning to any of you that cares to read my babbling, It has been about a year and a half since I have been able to sit down, and run my unasked for mouth on this site because of a Kidney condition. 3. I have never been to the cemetery in Hugo Sam speaks of. However my son-in-law's mother has family buried there and he has been there several if not many times. I understand it is all Sam has said and more.
