    3. Vessy is a good 10+ miles from the Bowie County Line and probably no direct roads or if any, very poor. Much easier to go 7 pr 8 miles to Clarksville. Vessey is on county road 3135 about 1 to 2 miles northeast of Slate Cemetery by the way the crow flies. 3. Thanks for the info Jim. I didn't realize it was that close to the Slate cemetery. Next time we are in RR I will have to go take a picture of the sign. It is all that is left from what I have been told. A nice lady did a lookup for me in Bowie County of Cemeteries and there are no Slate burials. I did find a 3G Uncle Love burial though in Texarkana. I knew he was there but didn't know the cemetery. Someone on here, I think Carol, said they had access to the DAR Records. Could you do a lookup for me on him? Here is what she sent me from the cemetery book she had... According to the records I have, Fielding Taylor Love is buried In Rose Hill Cemetery in Texarkana, Bowie Co, TX. He shows dates of 1854-1914. There is a notation that this information was obtained from DAR or other lists, so I don't know if he has a headstone. I would appreciate any help. I don't know why he would be in the DAR Records. I am not aware of a connection for this status in this family. That could be a great break for my research. 3. That Vessey road, to me is one any beautiful back roads of Red River County. I have taken several pictures along that road. Picture at one home has a sign next to the road with the word "Vesey" in it (one S). I forget exactly what it says Pictures of deserted homes of yesteryear. and the at the north end of the road splits into 2 road and both got on to Hwy 1159 (northside). The right (east) split is the most interesting with a sign about turkey hunting and then the Acworth church and cemetery. I thing the cemetery gate says "Mt Pleasant Cemetery" but I don't hold me to that. Also at the beginning of the road on the south end is the Atkins Ranch. This is the original ranch/farm of the Atkins family. The other is on Hwy 82 west of Detroit. If you will drive the complete FM 1159 you will see signs for several old cemeteries and communities.
