Some one told me, not to long ago that the hump on the top from of the Alamo was not original, that it was added later for the tourist, movies etc. I didn't want to believe that but I said nothing, but I thought then I remembered seeing a old picture of it. I am now looking at the picture taken in 1868 and it does have the hump. I that 3 covered wagon's hitched to teams and the buildings on the side that are not the same structure as today. Jim Giddens Paris, Tx p.s. I had a good day Saturday at the Hall of Fame meeting and at the Stones Chapel Cemetery Assn. meeting. About 50 or more people at the cemetery including Cynthia Samples and her husband. John Grant West, 87, was there from Louisiana. He live there at Cherry as boy and young man. He was describing to me where the Cherry School was located, that my Grandfather Marion Giddens taught for a few years around 1912 when my dad baby sister died and was the first Giddens buried at Stones Chapel because everyone was sick and the weather was to bad to go to Concord. Also Cynthia and I talked to a couple of the locals that seemed interested in joining our board.
