Jim, sorry to be so long in responding. My computer has been down since May 5th, what a nightmare. I had to strip it down to a bare hard-drive and start over. For those with genealogy programs on your computer I highly recommend that you export a GED.com copy of your files to yourself and copy it to a CD. All I had to do was import the file from the CD back to my genealogy program and I got all my files back. Jim, I think we are very distant cousins. Joseph Bledsoe, married to Mary Barnett, was a brother to my great, great grandfather Walter Wm. Bledsoe. I am kind of sentimental so I cherish the fact that I have the pin that Walter Wm. gave Nora Alice McCarley as a wedding present 31 Jan 1883. I wore it as my "something old" on my wedding dress. I even have a picture her wearing the pin. I also have a Dollie Quick that married Robert Joe (Jack) Bledsoe 1890-1974 ( he was the son of Edward brother to Walter Wm.) and a Richard Quick married Lucille Bledsoe (she was a daughter of Walter Wm. and his 3rd wife Olivia Veech). How does Gillie Woods Quick fit into the picture? Diane Miller
Diane, I finally found my notes. Gillie Woods Quick's parents were Marshall Lee Woods and Jessie Joe Bledsoe Woods(female). Jessie Joe 's (female) parents were Joe Bledsoe & Mary Barnett. Now for me. My great great grandfather Wiley W. Giddens had a daughter Isabelle Giddens (1848-1905) married William Martin Barnett (1846-1919). Both buried at Concord with my Giddens ancestors. I have a picture of this large Barnett/Giddens family beside the grave of Wiley Giddens at Concord Cemetery that died in 1897. Therefore this picture was taken within that 8 year time frame. Now if we can connect these two Barnetts we have some kind of genealogy connect that is fun to trace. I will keep more of my notice later. Jim Giddens Paris, Tx p.s. I am still trying figure out who asked me about a Ping Spring Cemetery in Lamar county. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Diane Miller" <dianermiller@cox-internet.com> To: <TXREDRIV-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, May 18, 2003 4:03 PM Subject: [TXREDRIV] Woods/Bledsoe > Jim, sorry to be so long in responding.
