Carol, Can you do a lookup for me. Can you look for Giddens or Gideon with the first names of Reuben, James or Edward. I was given a copy of a page from Ramfre, "A Reminiscent History of the Ozark Region", by Ramfre Press, 1844. According to this page, Edward Gideon was killed in the Amer. Rev. War. It may be it was not Edward, but James that was the one killed. Also, name Giddens & Gideon seems to flow in and out of records in those early years. If it is Reuben or Edward, it is possible he was the father or grandfather of my GGGG GF Reuben Giddens that married in Wilkes Co. N.C. in 1797. In 1800 there was a James, Reuben and 2 Edward Giddens in Burke/Wilkes Co. N.C.
