Drew, your note reminds me of a town in Texas called Wimberly. I was stationed at San Marcos in 1956. I would visit Wimberly because it had only one little country store, and it reminded me of Fulbright back in RR County. The man that owned the store could tell I was from the country, and he would let me hunt on his place. In 1883, I was back down that way, and decided to drive out there for a look. To my surprise, there were 3 Banks and the other business to support them, and if anyone thinks it was " Location", then all I can say is look it up on the map. Of course, we all have our opinions about the growth of Clarkisville and RR County, and I am sure they are all fine, but let me say this, I am 68 years young, retired from the Clarksville P.O.and have spent almost all of my life near or in RR County, and would you believe that in talking with many old friends down there, the one story I hear most is " Let Paris and those other towns grow, and I will drive there and get what I want, then come on home and live the quite life"!
