Ok this is # 3 and the last one for now. I know these are repeats, but maybe some of us were not on board then. Jim Giddens p.s. plus the board is still quiet. Almost the first marker I saw was Johnson. Sure enough, it was John R Johnson died Dec 1889 and wife D.J. Johnson. A few feet below them was another John R Johnson born Jan 1889. and a female beside him. I forget all the dates etc, but I took pictures that I will develop later. All their markers appear to be fairly new, definitely not 100 years old. The marker for wife was much larger that that of her husband. I honestly think I could spend hours or days in that (and other) cemeteries just reading it like a history book, trying to figure out the relation the people that are buried in the same area. The maiden names, son of or daughter of, mother. I still want to take time to piece this Johnson family together a little more. Was D.J. (Della I think) the wife or is it another etc. > Walking through the cemetery was names as Donoho, Dinwiddie (sp), DeMorse and several names I remember hearing in my youth. Also this is where the "Hanging Tree" is. > I plan to walk the cemetery across from the Catholic Church soon, where Clark is buried. I did take some more pictures today of the old blue house to be restores. I notice there was charred wooden frames around the windows on the northwest corner of the house, telling of a fire inside the house in recent years. I saw none on the other windows. I could see were leveling of the house had been done. > Played dominoes with my Dad today. He is not himself, but he is still sharp at the game. > > Jim Giddens > Paris, Tx > > > > > > ==== TXREDRIV Mailing List ==== > > > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 >
