Jan, Somebody on the board referred to it as the Blue House because of the color (I think), but I forget the history of the house. I recall it was built by a builder, W. Otto Glassnap (Glosnop). Same builder that built the Miss Bell House around 1875. I probably have some pictures of it in my boxes if you would like one. It may take me a little time to find it. I do feel sure the name is not for a "Blue" family. I only know notice my typo in the subject line. This house "blue" house was written up in the Clarksville Times a few month ago. The man restoring it found a couple of grave markers in the upstairs rooms. This is very interesting. I do not take the paper. Jim, Do you have the write up and could you put it on our board? I am interested in the grave markers. Just never know what you will find in an old house. That is why I love to go look in the old houses. Sometimes the wall paper is there or remenants of what was probably very fashionable at the time. The foundations also give up some interesting artifacts. When people who did not trust the bank buried their money in oil paper, and put it in a hole in the ground near a tree, it was usually a tree they could see from their bed looking out the bedroom window at night. Most people eventually recovered what they had buried. Sometimes somethings would happen to the individuals and the money was never recovered. The roots of the trees grew over the jars. There are treasures underground. Old coins turn up from time to time and a dump site will often yield old bottles etc. especially one near a hospital. Mary, I doubt I still have the paper. I think I went to the old Clarksville Cemetery and took pictures or markers that had been put in their places, seems the surname was Johnson. I recall that some one just took it upon themselves to replace the markers. Maybe someone else on the list has a better memory of the article. I will see what I can come up with but I have 3 full days ahead of me starting tomorrow. Jim Giddens Paris, Tx p.s. Lynn Titus presented a very good program tonight on his Titus family back to the 1600s, at the RRCGS meeting in Clarksville. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary N.
