Jim, I agree with you that the board is quite, but was wondering if I am the only one that is getting some e-mails either very late, or get some of them Two or Three? No big deal, but I was just wondering. Example, today I got one from you telling me that Mae Hackler was very sick. I got one the other day just like it, plus the one since saying she had died, but several of my e-mails have been a little mixed up lately Sam Paris ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim Giddens" <jimg@cox-internet.com> To: <TXREDRIV-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, March 28, 2003 9:36 PM Subject: [TXREDRIV] obit > Paris News today > > Goldie Mae Clark, 91 of Annona > > Ruth M Humphrey, 96 of Clarksville > > Board is sure quiet also. > > Jim Giddens > Paris, Tx > > > > > > > ==== TXREDRIV Mailing List ==== > > > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > >
Sam, I am having some trouble with the list messages also. At one point today, I received all the messages I have received over the last two days again. I think the mail servers for the lists are still clearing out their built up messages. When a system has trouble like they had, it can cause losts of duplicate messages and heavy delays on new ones. Unfortunately, I have had to experience this first hand as a network/email administrator over the last 6 years. It is hard enough keeping up with email servers and their demands, but when one goes down or an ISP backs up watch out. That usually spells a 24+ hr shift, and those are not fun. Oh the nights I have slept in my cube...oh yes those are the times I dreamt of as a young child...hehehe... Give it a few more days and everything should be back to normal...
