I wanted to share this with my Red County Web-site family also. Below is my message in regards to the e-mail below it. Jim Giddens Paris, Tx To Giddens Family: (I got the e-mail below just this today.) Just wanted to share it with you. Dale's father was Aubrey Roberts. A dear and lifelong friend of Dad's since childhood at Hopewell. Dale and his Dad have been living in Az for many years. Aubrey and Dad were also in Colorado City, Tx together and rode together when visiting back home in Red River Co back in the 1920s. I have letters and pictures Aubrey sent to Dad over the years and heard Dad tell stories about him & Aubrey & Aubrey's brother Grady many times. Over the last 10 years at Regency I would help Dad call Aubrey on the phone. Dale and I made e-mail contact about 5 years ago and would send messages back and forth for Aubrey & Dad. Dad would always grin and laugh when telling me the story of Grady falling out a tree when they were all boys. Aubrey & Dad were with in a few weeks of being the same age. Dale (from his dad) always called my Dad "Cap" just as Vivian did because of Abeline. I was shocked the first time Dale e-mailed me about "Cap". I had never heard anyone call him Cap except Vivian. By the way, I called Weldon and asked about Vivian (daughter of Uncle Abeline) just a couple of weeks ago. She has been in the nursing home there in Georgetown (Tx) for 7 years.
