    2. Hello, My youngest son, Cory, is adopted. In Colorado, an adopted child is, also, given the same rights as birth children. They are given revised birth certificates with the adoptive parents listed as THE parents. Several years ago, I helped my son find his birth parents. In my FTM, Cory is listed as our son AND a descendent of all of my husband's and my ancestors - just like our other two children. Additionally, I have included what I know (and am learning) about the ancestry of his birth parents.I think that it is good to give as broad of picture of his roots as possible as all of those who went before - from his birth family and adoptive family - helped to create what he is today. Just my thoughts on the subject of adoption. Phyllis in Colorado
