Jo, Yes, I meant Tom Roberts, I have had Tom Watson on my mind. Sorry about that. I did get much or most of the information from the Dale book, but do not have one myself. I thought I would wait for the new one, but that is a long 2 or 3 years away. I have a affinity for the family names of Hopewell that I recall from my youth and latch onto them. Such as Gandy, Mowery, McNabb, Monkhouse, Stanley, Fryar, Blassingame, and off course my people, Watson and Giddens. In the picture, Tom Roberts looks a lot like Charlie Daniels of the Charlie Daniel band as for the clothes and hat. He could be around 30 years old but hard to tell for sure. He does not have a beard. I started to say the picture could be older, but I just figure there are not to many pictures back that far. After looking at the picture again, I just do not think it can be as old as 1905. I appears as a snap shot, about 2.5 by 3 inches. The company print on the back is very faint, but appears for be processed by Fox of San Antonio, Tx with the number 12 735 stamped on the back. I wonder if this could be Dec, 7, 1935. Above the print of the Fox (animal) is the larger print word that appears to be "BORDER" but it has a ink spot around the B area. I will be glad to scan and send the photo to you if you like, or maybe you have one. I am trying to find notes where my Dad and my aunt Tommie Jean Watson Childers explained the Tom Roberts picture to me. I am looking at my notes of Hopewell Cemetery of John Roberts 1862-1904; Thomas M Roberts 1882 to _____ and wife Evie Mae (or Mary) 8-19-1885 to 7-2-1971? Jim Giddens Paris, Tx p.s. My Aunt Tommie Jean might could still help with the picture if needed. I do plan to go to Avery tomorrow, perhaps I will stop in Clarksville and talk to Tommie about it again. ----- Original Message ----- From: "JO COX" <jocox@arkansas.net> To: <TXREDRIV-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, June 22, 2003 6:38 PM Subject: Re: [TXREDRIV]Roberts family and a car crash > Jim, Thank you so much.
