    1. [TXREDRIV] Salem Church
    2. There was a Salem Church with cemetery that i went to this spring to visit my ggrandparents grave site. It look well kept and maybe still having services. Does this church have any records from the late 1800's to early 1900's? Since my ggrandparents are buried there i thought they may have attended this church. If i remember right it was on the way to Anona from Clarksville. Carol

    3. Carol, That church is in Boxelder. My grgr grandmother and gr grandparents plus many more are buried there. One cousin gave me a certificate that stated my gr grandfather was an elder once. But I don't know how you could get any information. I understand they did hold service still there, but don't know for sure now. Good luck. 3. Salem Baptist Church is listed in the RR Valley Baptist Association history from 1848 to 1991, to be the 11th Baptist Church in the State of Texas. Established in 1856. The writing in 1991 indicates the church is still there, but I do not know. The RRVBA office is in Paris, Tx. The Methodist and the Presbyterian as the earliest Protestants churches to Texas the way I read it, except of course for the Catholics that were in Texas with the Spaniards.
