    1. Re: [TXREDRIV] Adoptions
    2. That would be probably hard to find out. I know I had to petition the court here in Lamar cty to open my adoption papers file. Since that has happened, the only thing I really would like to have now is my original birthcertificate, which is in Austin sealed....until I can get the same judge to send a court order to unseal it. Do you know how old the person was when they were adopted??? I can try to help, if you can email me personally with information concerning bith date, name of grandparents, etc. Anything to help you out. 3. Debra, I appreciate the offer of help. I am not sure I want to go through all that trouble to prove anything, it's just I would like to know how my aunt fits in here. I talked to my mother the other day and she said that my last living aunt on this side said that Helen was adopted, but she doesn't know anymore than that. I plan on getting with her daughter and seeing what she can tell me. I just like to know how everyone fits in, not trying to say she's not from our line. She was raised, apparantly, from a little baby by my grandparents, so that would make her just as much a part of the family as any others. I just wanted to clarify why I couldn't find a birth certificate. If you are interested, the names concerned are my grandparents, Dave Franklin Spangler and Ora Elizabeth Gamble. The one I am thinking might be adopted is Helen Marie Spangler. My cousin is showing a birth date of 6-23-1926 in Clarksville. Helen's obituary shows she is the daughter of Ora Elizabeth Spangler and shows my aunts and Dad as her siblings. I did find a birth record for her daughter that showed Helen's name as Helen Marie Parker. It's a very interesting mystery, but it wouldn't change how I feel about aunt Helen, just would help me to make sure I have my facts right. I kind of find it interesting how to handle some situations. You don't want to offend someone because this person has always been a part of the family, but sometimes you find out things that perhaps better kept secret. I always find it hard to figure out how to record the facts without offending folks. Thanks for any help, Ken Spangler Paris, Texas BBIRDSWIFE@aol.com wrote: That would be probably hard to find out.
