Ken, I don't know about the Adoption laws in Texas, but in Louisiana it would be next to impossible. When a child is adopted in LA, they have the same rights as a natural born child if not more! An adopted child has rights to inheritance not only to the adopted parents but the natural as well! I wish you luck on your research. I adopted my child and do not think any other way by her other than she is MY CHILD! I would hope that no other family member would try to prove otherwise! If I were to discover that my grandparents had adopted a child, (not my father but one of the siblings) would there be a way to discover when the adoption took place? I know this would have taken place around 1926 in Red River county. I just don't know how the laws are concerning adoptions. The concerned individual died in the 1980s. I'm not so much concerned about the identity of the individual as I am just proving that this individual was not an actual birth child, but adopted. Any responses to help guide me in this area would be appreciated. Thanks, Ken Spangler Paris, Texas --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
