    3. Hi Everyone, I am planning a trip up to Red River County week after next. I will be doing some courthouse research as well as going to the libraries and visiting Cemeteries. Can anyone who has been there tell me what to expect? Such as fee's for copies. Which libraries have the best records. Where I can find the newspapers for obituaries, should I call ahead, etc.... Any help would be appreciated!!!! Donna Merrill dmerrill3@mindspring.com

    3. Donna, There will be several if not many interested in helping you with what we know. There is one library in Clarksville, north of the square 2 blocks. Maybe someone else can give you there hours, but it is probably on the county rootsweb site. The old courthouse is undergoing restoration and the records are at the annex on the northwest corner of the square. You may want to visit the C of C on the south end of the east side of the square and visit with Becky Hale at the tourist center in the middle of the north side of the square. There are other places and people of interest also that could be helpful. If you need and directions to any cemeteries, Myself and others I can probably help you. There will be some small fees for photocopies etc. of maybe $1 each. The RRCo Genealogy society is collection and microfilming the old newspapers of the county. Also the Paris Junior College Library in Paris has microfilm of much the old Northern Standard paper and of the Paris News. I am not sure about the Clarksville Times at PJC. Also you may want to share with us the family names and/or cemeteries, you will get good response if we have it. I am always curious as to what area people live in. Will you share that?
