My grandmother was Eddie Esley BURNS born on October 3, 1880 in Weaver, Hopkins County. Her parents were William A. BURNS and Paralee Aribell HART. William's parents were James Love BURNS and Rachel Miller. William was born in Tippah County, MS in 1855 and James Love BURNS was born in Maury County, TN in 1829. His parents were Miles Burns and Susan BIFFLE. Miles BURNS parents were John Arthur BURNS and Ann WALKER. John Arthur BURNS was the son of Charles BURNS and Mary WEBB. Charles was our immigrant ancestor and was born in Scotland. James Love BURNS is buried in Stout Creek Cemetery in Hopkins County as is his daughter, Susan Rosalie BURNS BURKHAM. Following his death, Rachel, his wife, along with several of her children, including William and his wife, Paralee, removed to Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory. William seemed to migrate back and forth between what is now Garvin County, OK and Lamar County. Always willing to share information, if any of you see a connection.
