    3. Bob, I'm not sure how correct I am (I'm only 40) but I believe Sherry was a little community about 8 miles south of Clarksville. My family was apparantly around that area because my aunt Martha Jo Spangler was born there in 1930. If I am mistaken then I am sure someone could straighten me out. I am not sure if it is even around any more. Thanks, Ken Spangler Paris, Texas Bob Moore <moor4933@bellsouth.net> wrote: Ken: In what Red River County community is Sherry School located. 3. Someone has probably replied already, I just got in, but. Sherry is a old community about 4 miles south of Clarksville on the "old" Bogata highway FM 909. Cherry is a old community north of Clarksville about 4 miles and east of Hwy 37 on FM 2283 about 2 miles where Stones Chapel Cemetery is. There was a school at Cherry and I assume there was a school at Sherry. It has always been confusing to a lot of people including me. Jim Giddens Paris, p.s. Ken what was your mother's maiden name? I was raised in Clarksville. Maybe some of us will know her or the family. Or maybe she only has the picture and did not go to school there. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Moore" <moor4933@bellsouth.net> To: <TXREDRIV-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, June 10, 2003 6:33 PM Subject: Re: [TXREDRIV] Old School Picture from Sherry, Texas. > Ken: > In what Red River County community is Sherry School located. > Thanks: > > Bob Moore in MS > moor4933@bellsouth.net > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Kenneth Spangler" <spanglergen@yahoo.com> > To: <TXREDRIV-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Tuesday, June 10, 2003 5:49 PM > Subject: [TXREDRIV] Old School Picture from Sherry, Texas. > > > > Hi all, > > > > I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in an old school > picture I found last night. 3. Jim, My grandmother's maiden name is Ora Elizabeth Gamble. She married Dave Franklin Spangler around 1925 in Clarksville. The connection to Sherry would be that they were residing around that area in the 1930s or thereabout because my aunt, Martha Jo Spangler, was born in Sherry in 1930. I am suspecting that she might have kept this picture because of one of her children are in it. I am thinking that the bottom row, 4th from the right looks similar to my aunt -- Ora Irene Spangler, but I am not sure. If that were true, then my dad would be in it too but I don't recognize any that look similar to him. He and Irene were twins and were born in 1928. I wish I had more to go on. I just saw it said "Sherry School" on the back and thought I would post it and see what I could find out. Thanks, Ken Spangler Paris, Texas Jim Giddens <jimg@cox-internet.com> wrote: Someone has probably replied already, I just got in, but.
