My Philemon PERDUE family migrated from Montogomery Co, TN to Smith Co, TX. Not real close to Red River, but I'm guessing that came in through Clarksville. By Texas standards, Smith County is fairly close -- a hundred miles or so. It is not unliikely your Perdue's came through Red River Co. but by the 1850s a good deal of southbound traffic arriving via Arkansas did not come so far west. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeri J. I have lived in Red River and Lamar County for 68 years, and all this time, there have been Perdue's, and still are some in Red River County. The ones I knew personally have passed on, but their folks sill live here.
