    2. This was posted on the RootsWeb Red River County Message Board. I know there was a Fox family that lived in Avery. I have a 1st cousin 2x removed, Paul Lawson, who married Vivian Fox, born in Avery 27 Apr 1909. Does anyone on the mailing list know of any Fox family members still living in Red River Co or close by? If so, they may be interested in this. Charles Lawson Huntsville, TX POSTED 11/26/2005 by Nancy Wolfgang I know this is far from RR County but I think it is great that this suitcase didn't end up in the trash and perhaps relatives may be found.. In today's Dallas Morning News (Metro Section front page) there was an article about a suitcase found by the police. The suitcase contained over a century of photos, documents, and mementos about the Foxes, the Hairs and the Pulliam families. "....who have links to Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle town of Olton......included is a 100 year old marriage license of Joe C. Fox and Alice Pulliam, who were married in Willbarger County Texas. Anyone who knows how to find relatives...call Sgt. Katz at 214-671-0904.

    3. There is still a Anderson Fox listed in the Avery phone listing. Also listed in the Avery list is Buck and Doris Cagle. I think Buck died a few short years ago. (My book is 2004). Doris's first husband was Buddy Fox. I knew the all when I was in Avery in the 70s. Buddy has died also, so there may not be much of a trail to follow from that angle unless Doris has some information. If you contact her, tell her I lead you to her. She is a fine lady. Rambling now: Buck was one of my heroes when I was playing junior high football and he was playing high school. Buck was tall, much of a man, rough and mean on the football field. He later lettered 4 years a Baylor. I have another story about Buck and a bull dozier and a shot gun and 5 gallons of gas. Maybe I have already told that story of the 50s. Buck's first wife was Betty Sue Reed, daughter of Dr. C.B. Reed of Clarksville.
