I wonder if list members can't supply a lot of other good examples of our parents' "folk language" that we genealogists should preserve. such as "go butt a stump" for "go to H___," "fine as frog hair," "useless as hip-pockets on a hog," "mama-sow mean," "sucking on hind teat," and such.
