    3. Was the name Bruntley and never spelled Brantley? My Montgomery family moved from TN and one of the girls married a Brantley. I believe there were more in RR county too. There was a Thomas Smothers in Red River Co. in 1900 with two daughters, but he had married again and had a daughter and son by Carrie Hickey. I wonder if Sarah had a connection with Martha. > Does anyone know this Bruntley family? 3. RRR has no Bruntley names in the index, but more than a dozen Brantley names including the Coy Brantley that my parent knew from their early days. He had a son named Donald about 2 years older than me, which would make him about 66 now. I recalled Coy working at a small Humble gas station and also driving the distribution truck. He station has been gone for years. It was where the parking lot is now for the Courthouse annex (old Red River Bank) on W. Broadway. Coy and Donald live around the corner from us on Rose Hill for a relative short period of time. I do see in ther RRR that Coy's father was John Brantley. Coy was born 1916. (page 297, top left). Just a tid-bit. 3. I'm sure the name was spelled many different ways. It's a rare name (even Brantly is), and Martha spelled it with a "d" and without the"e." I would love to know more about this Brantley family. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peggy" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, August 25, 2005 5:53 PM Subject: Re: [TXREDRIV] Bruntley family > Was the name Bruntley and never spelled Brantley?
