    3. Jim/Sharon: Seems like I remember Silberberg's store being next door to the old Texan movie theater, which burned in the mid fifties. After it burned I think it was reopened as Marx Men's wear on the corner. It seems like the Odd Fellow hall was above these buildings. You can still see the Silberberg sign that is painted on the back of the buildings if you drive down that street that did go to the fire station ...before it burned.( The fire station burned later..poss. late 60's) It seems there is a storey about the cause of that fire. Does anyone recall it? That input came his of the members of the Silberberg family. Jerrold had his paragraph and (I had assumed it was Gerald) must have been related, maybe a nephew etc. Maybe the RRR says, but I'm going to bed to get ready for another long day tomorrow starting at 5:30 when my alarm goes off. I remember the store have the x-ray box in the shoe dept. I could see the bones in my feet just by stepping up and putting the feet into the box. Cool. 3. Tom & all, I do not believe Silberberg / Marx's was ever on the corner that I know of unless it was before my time it has always been in the same place. I remember as a boy, the large display glass in case that was like a island in the front of the store. It was probably about 6 ft x 10 foot. You could walk around and around it without going into the store, then there was two sets of double doors, never did seem to be a main door, but the mens side was on the left and the ladies and bedding etc was on the right. I also believe there was a penny weight machine it front, as the was at a few other stores, at least 3. Been a long day, better hit the sack and get ready for 5:50 a.m. again.
