I don't know about his father, but George was running the Parks Grocery and Parks Apts on west Main in Clarksville where Hwy 37 turns toward Bogata. George was probably in his 90s when he died recently. Could easily be more than one George Parks. The Apts were actually Parks Motel but sometime later, there were converted to apts. Probably about 6 or 8 units. For us teens in the 50, this was the turn around and go back spot when dragging (cursing) main, the other end was the Top Drive-Inn (ice-cream) or the ball park. We would usually visit and talk at the Top each time we drug main.
