    1. Re: [TXREDRIV] Silberberg's
    2. It was before 1976, if that's a help. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sharon Black" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, August 23, 2005 7:08 PM Subject: [TXREDRIV] Silberberg's > Does anybody know what year Jerrold Marx took over Silberberg's Dry > Goods store in Clarksville and changed the name? > Sharon Black > > > ==== TXREDRIV Mailing List ==== > > > > ============================== > Search Family and Local Histories for stories about your family and the > areas they lived. 3. I have only a vague memory of when I believe it was still Silberberg's and I feel very confidant is was Marx's when I was in college from 1964-1968. (Mr Marx sold me clothes at a discount because I was in college). I believe it was Marx's back in my high school years of the late 50s, but would not bet my check on it. My Aunt Inez Fryer was the seamstress for Mr Marx for many years. She is still alive and can probably tell me when it happened. Stop the presses, just got out the RRR and looked under Silberberg after no luck with Marx. Still a little hard to find the date, but Jerrold bought it out and changed the name to Marx'a in 1952 when he became owner. He worked there since 1934. (This is on page 266 top left). Jerrold and Mildred sold the store in 1979.
