Interment follows in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. He was born Sept. 28, 1915, in Michie Tenn., the son of James E. and Lillie Mae Michie Sr. He was the retired owner of Medfords Store in Avery. He was a member of Avery United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Medford Michie and Hazel Hopper Michie; son, James E. Michie III; grandson, Jay E. Michie and brother, Charles P. Michie. He is survived by his son, Charles Michie and wife, Laura; daughter, Rosemary Witmer and husband, Bryon; sister, Eunice Fultz; brother, Hugh David Michie; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
