You were right, Jim. Marris Chapel is hardly two miles SW of Bogata. Approaching Bogata from Paris on US271, turn right toward an isolated water tower. I'll check and report, but the last time I drove by there were scattered homes but no chapel, gin or store. I don't think the community was ever incorporated. The name Marris is an example of the fact that not all mis-spellings are unintentional. T'is said there was a rift within the family, which split into Marris and Morris.
