Below is a e-mail from Marion's sister after she talked with M.L.'s wife, Suzanne from Mayo Clinic in Wisc. This is not genealogy but I think many of you may remember a mom and pop grocery store across the street from the Clarksville baseball field on the east side of town. It was "Lowe & Barry Grocery" Lowe is Buster Lowe, father of Marion. Marion and us boys spent a lot of time there when we were practicing for playing games of baseball. Marion and a few other of old gang are meeting at Dimple Mall about every morning for breakfast about 6 a.m.. Marion is not always there and I have never made it, but Eddie Pryor keeps me posted on there high level conference meeting <grin> Well, it isn't really a Mall, but that is what Eddie calls the grocery/station on Hwy 37 at Dimple and they do server breakfast and other meals. The diagnosis of Amyloidosis was confirmed (it is NOT Cancer.) It is an abnormal protein that is being stored in the kidneys. It is only in the kidneys & not in the bone marrow or any other organ. This doctor has him on a list & estimates that it may take as much as 6 weeks for them to have a place for him for treatment. When he goes back for treatment, he will have his stem cells harvested & will then take a high dosage of chemo - 1/2 one day and the other 1/2 the next day. The third day they will give him back his stem cells. He would then be there 6 weeks or until all signs of infection has passed. Of course, this treatment has risks but the folks at Mayo Clinic know what to look for and how to treat it. He will continue to need your prayers. The doctor told them that overall Marion is in excellent physical condition. Please continue to pray. He and Suzanne are flying to Dallas early in the am.
