Cynthia The speaker for this month will be Kelvin Meyers, whose subject will be "The Hand That Rocked The Cradle Could Rule The World". His goal in this lecture is, that those attending will leave with a basic knowledge of sources created about and by women, and how to locate these sources. A professional genealogist for the last eighteen years, and an avid researcher-historian for the last twenty-eight years, Kelvin brings a great knowledge of social sciences, history, genealogy and some PI techniques to his work. The Dallas Public Library employed him for ten years in the Genealogy Department. Now, Blake and Blake, a company engaged in missing heir and adoption searches, employs him in the research field. A native of Crosby County, he has published two books on his home county; deed abstracts and a compilation of records, including, church, marriage, and census. For a fall of 2005 release, his third book will feature abstracts of the probate minutes. He is also abstracting the births, deaths, and marriages from the Semi-Weekly Farm News.
