Jim G ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Wal Mart officials came into the Clarksville store this morning and informed them that they were closing the store on Dec. 3l. Needless to say the whole town is in shock. The reasons that they gave were that they weren't making any money here, the man that owns the store does not want to renew their lease, and that they drove around town and looked at the town and decided because of the town going down and losing population that they did not want to invest any more time and money in this area. Sunni Beth is not sure what she will do. They are offering a severance package, but if she takes it her cancer will be considered as preexisting, and she will not have any coverage after going back to work for a year. Eddie said, "Well, they closed down our little town and square and now they are going to go off and leave us with nothing!" With gas so expensive it is going to be a hardship for people to go to Paris or Idabel for every little thing, and of course, the elderly used that pharmacy at Wal Mart a lot too. It's a sad day here for our little town. Helen
