    2. Since this message was sent to the list, I think it is okay for me to comment. Jim Giddens is perhaps the most knowledgeable person about the history of Red River County and surrounding areas that exists. I don't know him personally, but I would like to. He is able to add something interesting and historically significant to every question someone asks. He seems to be willing to help anyone who needs help and we all need help at some point. I, personally feel that Mr. Giddens is owed an apology for these harsh words. Doris ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com

    3. I agree with my cousin, Doris, who wrote the message below. One of our FLOYD gr.gr. Uncles, went to Red River Co. after the Civil War. Mr. Giddens has been very helpful and is very knowledgeable of the history in that area. Doris and I both live in East TN, and without the help of Jim Giddens and others such as Tom Trissell, we would not have found our gr.gr.grandfather's brother and his family. Through the efforts of kind persons such as Jim and Tom, we have met a descendant, who is our cousin, and lives in Denton, who has filled in a lot of our blanks in that side of the family. So, thank you Jim and Tom for all your help.
