My ties to Red River county is distant and I know absolutely nobody who lives there now or anyone on this list. I long ago recieved the info on my relatives but I continue to read this list because of people like Jim and Sam and others who have wonderful stories to share and are so helpful to those who need help with information. I once belonged to the list for this county and since I am retired was willing to go to cemeteries or libraries or visit old timers who remembered much of the past of this county, and share it with those doing genealogy research. It kept me out of the wife's way etc. Well there was a person got all upset because I wa helping others. I do not know why and did not want to stir a lot of trouble so i just left the list. It is sad when a person becomes jealous of others and does and says things to hurt those who are willing to give freely of their time and knoledge. OK, yes, we all love Jim and appreciate all he does for us. The person who sent this message obviously did not mean for it to go to the list. This happens from time to time and it is usually funny, but a little bit embarrassing to the person who sends it. It just goes to show you should be very careful what you say in an EMail regardless of where you send it. I think we should be more tolerant of mistakes. I once accidently sent one to the TXGenWeb list that I meant for the RR list, in which I said some things about the clerks office in another county. William I am sorry you felt like you couldn't help people any more because some people didn't like it. A lot of counties do not have people like we do that will try to help. There is a county in Tennessee that I wish had somebody like Lawrence and Sue to compile the cemetery records, or a person like Jim G to follow up on leads and check out things for people who do not live in the area. They seem to have people who get up-tight about people getting off the subject on the list. I enjoy helping people with their research from time-to-time, because I usually learn things while I am doing it. I don't advertise the fact that I do it, however, because I really don't have the time and energy to do it all.
