The only documented info I have was that my gr grandfather Lewis W. Hensley married Nancy Helen Groves in Red River County in 1876 he left or disappeared shortly after my grandfather's birth in 1877 and Nancy Helen remarried in December, 1879 to William Cruse. According to some info on my grandfather, William Martin Hensley, his father was born in KY. But I'm not sure this is correct. My brother's DNA matched the DNA of the brother of a lady in South Carolina and we have been trying to connect then. We had a 37 marker match, so we are closely matched. Her gr grandfather was William H. Hensley and he married Hannah Barton. She thinks he was born in GA in 1844 but no definite proof. He had two sons, William and Robert. She was told that he left to go fight Indians and took his son William with him and Robert stayed with his mother- he was never heard from again that we know of. Due to the 37 marker match that our brothers had, we think our gr grandfathers were either brothers or at least first cousins. Would really appreciate any help.
