Hi Donna and Jo: What I have on Jim Roberts isn't much and what I have is confusing, guess this is a family I need to concentrate on. Jim Roberts married Lucinda Mowery 1-9-1890 in Red River, the marriage license gives his name as J.M. Roberts. Jim and Lucinda only had one child, a daughter who died at birth 11/2/1890. On the 1900 census Jim gives his birth date as Nov 1867. Jim died May 16, 1947, he is buried at Hopewell. In the Dale's cemetery records it has James P. Roberts b. Sept 1, 1864. The only other Roberts I have are Florence Roberts and her family. Florence married Corely Monkhouse. Not sure if Jim and Florence are relate. I don't thing this is my James Roberts. Mine was born 1875 that would have made him 15 years old at the time of marriage. Really don't think so. I have another Jim, but he wasn't born till 1925. I am unable to lift my books, due to surgery, but when my daughter gets home I will get her help and look at all of my Roberts family. I have found no reference to this Jim Roberts in my other two family lines of Mitchells or Stringers. I am connected to the Mowery and Monkhouse both. This is my understanding of the line. Please correct me if I am wrong and I would love to know what more you know of the Florence Roberts family....my connection is that her son Gene Monkhouse was my great Uncle and Aunt Audrey doesnt remember so well. Charles (CE Monkhouse) married Frances E Mowery and their son Corley Monkhouse married Florence Roberts. Florence had a brother Jake Roberts that Married Gracie Satcher.... now back to Frances Mowery Monkhouse.......she had a sister Lucinda Mowery that Married Jim Roberts......dont know if all of these Roberts are related but I bet they are. Frances and brother Jake lived down at hopwell not far from my great uncle and aunt Gene and Audrey Monkhouse. I just dont have any information on Frances and Jake to connect them to Jim. Another interesting thing is that Corley Monkhouse's uncle was Robert Monkhouse that married Susie Thoms/Mowery. Frances Mowery that married Charles (Corley father) Monkhouse father was James Mowery and he was married to Susan Thoms first then she married Charles's brother Robert Monkhouse.
